Glass recycling saves energy, CO2 and raw materials. What's better? Glass bottles and jars are 100% recyclable and can be recycled endlessly without any loss in purity or quality.

We couldn’t make glass recycling easier for you - simply rinse and place your glass in dedicated glass recycling bins that we provide. We collect and give your old bottles a fresh purpose in life.

Once at our recycling facilities, we sort and process glass into recyclable and non-recyclable.

Approved ones are sent for further cleaning before they're melted and recycled back into new bottles and jars.

Any glass that can’t be recycled is broken down and used in the construction industry.

How our Glass Recycling service works

  • STEP 1

The glass is collected from outside your business.

  • STEP 2

All materials for glass recycling are then taken to our depot where they are sorted at our award-winning sack-sorting facility, the Sacktory®.

  • STEP 3

Once sorted, the glass is washed, colour sorted, and the caps are removed (and recycled).

  • STEP 4

Glass is turned back into glass containers, over and over again. (Meanwhile, glass that finds its way into dry mixed recycling sacks is crushed and recycled into aggregate, which is used in construction.)

Not all glass can be recycled and we are often asked why drinking glasses can’t be recycled. As drinking glasses (and some other glass products) are made from toughened glass, they have a higher melting point which makes recycling problematic.

Just as broken and damaged glasses, these are sen to build roads and buildings.

In the end, recycling glass is always beneficial - and ensure that nothing goes to landfill!
