Orders and Deliveries

How long does it take for my order to get here?

For orders in London and Birmingham, we deliver next working day on Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. For any orders outside of these areas, delivery can be expected within 3-5 working days.

How do I place an order as a new customer?

For new customers you can place an order or set up a collection through our website. Simply select your service, order sacks or bins as necessary and/or choose your collection times.

The services we offer include regular business waste collection, specialist recycling services, and one-off rubbish removals. We also offer recycling bins and supplies for your workplace.

How do I place an order as an existing customer?

As a First Mile customer you have access to the online Customer Portal. You can use the Customer Portal to order and pay for sacks, access your Waste Transfer Note, view your collection schedule, report missed collections and more.

You can place an order 24/7 via the Customer Portal for delivery on your preferred day.

How do I book a bulky waste or one-off collection?

Book your bulky waste collection here! Simply tell us what you want us to collect, and where you'd like it collected from - and we'll do the rest. We collect Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm within 24 hours of your booking request.

Get your quote here. Enter your postcode, business and contact details and services you’d like – and we’ll come back to you with a quote as soon as possible.

I've signed up - how do I access the Customer Portal?

As a First Mile customer you have access to the online Customer Portal. You can use the Customer Portal to order and pay for sacks, access your Waste Transfer Note, view your collection schedule, view and pay invoices and report missed collections.

To access the Customer Portal:

1. Go to the Customer Portal
2. Type in your email address
3. Click 'Email me a link to login'
4. Open your email and click on the link
5. You can then create new login details by clicking 'Forgot password'

I've signed up - how do I get my Waste Transfer note?

Waste Transfer Notes are found on the Customer Portal 24/7

To access and download your Waste Transfer Note:

  1. Visit the Customer Portal
  2. Login in or choose ‘Email me a link to login’.
  3. Once logged into the Portal Select ‘Location’ > ‘Documents’.

Collections

What is my collection time?

You find your collection schedule on the Customer Portal. On the Portal homepage, select “Your Schedule” to view your collections.

To access:

1. Visit the Customer Portal
2. Login or click 'Email me a link to login in'
3. Once in the Portal select 'Location' > 'Documents'

What are the frequency and times of your collections?

We collect up to 3 times daily, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year, at a time to suit your business and in accordance with any local time band regulations to ensure you’re not at risk of receiving any fines.

How do I report a missed collection?

We’re sorry your collection was missed! Before reporting a missed collection, we recommend checking the following:

  • The waste was presented at the correct time in the agreed place
  • Your waste is presented in First Mile sacks
  • All of the waste is within maximum weight limits

We don’t often miss a collection but when we do, the easiest way to let us know is via the portal.

  2. Login or click 'Email me a link to login in'
  3. Once in the Portal, select ‘Report an Issue > Report missed collection’

Payments and Invoicing

How do I see my invoices?

You can view and download invoices at any time via the Customer Portal 24/7.

To access and download invoices:

1. Visit the Customer Portal
2. Login or click 'Email me a link to login in'
3. Once in the Portal select 'Account' > 'Invoicing'

How do I pay an invoice?

This depends on your current payment method. If you have a direct debit set up with us, you don’t need to do anything to make sure your invoice is paid. If you don’t have a direct debit, you can make a card payment on the portal or via BACS transfer.
