Are Plastic Kegs recyclable?

Plastic kegs extend the shelf life of beer, wine, cider and soft beverages, and are used across the drinks industry worldwide. With sustainability and the environment at their core, Plastic Kegs are almost completely recyclable when empty and meet the environmental criteria of the European Union.

If you’re wondering whether you can recycle plastic kegs with First Mile, the answer’s yes. Our Plastic Keg recycling service is an environmentally friendly way to dispose of your small format beer and alcohol kegs. And it couldn’t be easier.

Why are businesses switching to Plastic Kegs

The number of traditional metal beer kegs in the UK has been in steady decline over the last decade with plastic kegs now taking a growing share of the market. Plastic kegs have become the most commonly used kegs in the drinks and beverages industry.

Plastic Kegs FAQs

Can Plastic Kegs be recycled easily?

First Mile welcomes that development, as Plastic Kegs are almost 100% recyclable when empty and have the potential to be recycled with a zero-to-landfill outcome. Bars, pubs, restaurants and the hospitality sector still, however, face the need for a scalable recycler to manage, collect and recycle these plastic beverage kegs.
