I work as part of First Mile’s strong Customer Service team, with a focus on providing a first-class experience that amazes our customers and spreads our love of the environment. It’s a fast-paced environment, where you are frequently kept on your toes handling various types of customer queries.
The most common we get relate to collection times, invoices, orders, and our new online customer portal. These last two are our bread and butter, and we check to make sure we have drivers in the area to meet council requirements on behalf of our customers. Invoice queries can be a bit more complex, but help and support are always available when needed, and on-the-job training ensures you have the right tools to do your work well.
I love our beautiful modern office, fun days, and team socials which create a relaxed, yet welcoming, atmosphere. There are great opportunities to learn and make a positive contribution to the business, with excellent support offered for personal development. After 6 months I was promoted to a senior role, which has given me additional responsibilities. The potential for further internal progression here fills me with excitement; the company culture is fantastic.
Working with a great team who are passionate about environmental issues balances what can sometimes be a stressful role. I feel inspired to make a real difference and help support businesses by making recycling easy.
