For the 3rd year in a row, First Mile are supporting Crisis at Christmas with free recycling and waste collections to all of their London shelters.

Crisis is the national charity for single homeless people and is dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change. Crisis at Christmas 2015 runs from 23 to 30 December. Over 10,000 volunteers will help more than 4,000 homeless guests across the UK. As well as warmth, companionship and hot meals, guests in London, Birmingham, Newcastle, Coventry and Edinburgh will receive healthcare and specialist advice on a range of services including housing, work and benefits.

One of First Mile’s cleaning partners, Julius Rutherfoord, will also be supporting them this Christmas by providing free cleaning for several of its London centres helping the homeless over Christmas.

Bruce Bratley, CEO at First Mile said: “We’re thrilled to be helping Crisis at Christmas for the third year running. Their action makes a huge difference to the homeless, and by working in partnership with First Mile they’ll keep 15 tonnes of waste out of landfill, recycle over half of that and keep their work as green as possible.”
