We'll safely collect and recycle your electronics

Electronics recycling collection for your business

As electronic devices become an increasingly integral part of our lives, the amount of Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) we generate also grows. For example, the equivalent of 1000 laptops are thrown out every second, which is why WEEE recycling is so important.

We ensure that none of the waste we handle goes to landfill. So, whether it's computer recycling, laptop recycling, or something else, we'll make sure the right bits go to the right places with our e-waste recycling service.

For larger appliances such as fridge collection, we also offer one-off services.

WEEE Recycling FAQs

What is WEEE Waste?

WEEE stands for Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment, meaning anything from laptops to cables and plugs. These items contain chemicals that can be harmful if improperly disposed of but are useful when correctly managed. That's why we ensure each component is handled appropriately.

How is WEEE recycled?

First Mile's electronic recycling process is fast, and efficient and gives our users reassurance that their WEEE waste disposal is safe in our hands.

Once collected, electronic waste is sorted into items for wiping, refurbing, or recycling. Refurbished electrical items find a new life and are resold on secondary markets. Recycled items are broken down so that individual materials can be recovered.

We’re committed to zero-landfill, with all non-recyclable waste attributed to green energy generation – meaning you can improve your brand’s own sustainability through our service.

Who needs WEEE Recycling?

Almost every single business requires some sort of electronic equipment to function nowadays, which makes WEEE an increasingly common type of waste. This means all types of businesses, from offices to shops, will need to recycle electronic waste at some point.

What are the WEEE Regulations?

Since the Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2013 came into place, every business that produces this type of waste has a responsibility to pay for it to be collected and recycled.

It also forces companies that sell electronic or electrical equipment to give their customers an option to get rid of an old version of the product when a new one is being sold to them. This applies to all kinds of businesses, including online-only ones.

Do you offer rubbish removal near me?

We offer rubbish removal in London and Birmingham around our major sorting plants, as well as across the country. The best way to find out if we’re in your area is to check your postcode and see if this service is available near you!
